Remer Crum Daniel

Remer Crum Daniel, 77, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 22, 2016 in the chapel of Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with the Reverend Chris Daniel and the Reverend John Kinser officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Born on March 9, 1938 in Macon at Middle Georgia Hospital and raised in Cochran, Georgia. He sang in the choir and was very involved in Youth activities at First Methodist Church in Cochran. He attended Cochran High School where he played football and basketball. He attended Middle Georgia College. Mr. Daniel earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Georgia in 1961 where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and thereafter graduated from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in 1965 with a Juris Doctor degree. He was an active member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia and the Macon Bar Association. He practiced law with the Macon law firm of Martin, Snow, Grant & Napier (now Martin Snow, LLP) for nearly 40 years where he specialized in commercial real estate and business transactions and was a cornerstone of the firm's real estate practice. During his career Mr. Daniel was responsible for real estate title work on many large commercial real estate projects, including the land acquisition for, and development and construction of, the Macon Mall in the 1970s. He was widely recognized in the legal field for his expertise in handling complex real estate title matters. Mr. Daniel's attention to detail and willingness to help others were unsurpassed. He volunteered as a youth mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters and served as PTA president at Rosa Taylor Elementary School. He was a former member of Vineville United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir. He was a current member of Martha Bowman United Methodist Church. Mr. Daniel was an avid Falcons, Braves, UGA, and Mercer sports fan! He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry LeRoy Daniel, Sr and Florence Elizabeth Crum Daniel; and his brother, Harry LeRoy Daniel, Jr. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Pam Daniel of Macon; daughter, Cathy Davis (Scott) of Macon; sons, Remer Craig Daniel (Tracy) of Kingwood, Texas, and Chris Daniel (Genevieve) of Richmond, Virginia; twelve grandchildren, Ryan Glisson, Miller Ann Davis, Layne Davis, Robin Daniel, Kaylyn Daniel, Kendall Daniel, Courtney Daniel, Cason Daniel, Francine Daniel, Lillian Daniel, Mary Alice Daniel, and Nicholas Daniel; brother, David Daniel of Milledgeville, Georgia; sister- in-law, Marion Daniel of Cartersville, Georgia; and sister-in-law, Jill Mullane of Orlando, Florida.
