Reba Ogletree Cooper, 93, of Macon died Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at a local hospital after a short illness. Mrs. Reba, as she was affectionately known, was an avid gardener and a member of various Garden Clubs, during her long life. She loved her flowers and was a wealth of knowledge on how to take care of them; she had a green thumb and could make anything grow. She loved to read, work on word puzzles, play Bridge, paint, and in her later life, color. She was an active member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church, Athens, before moving to Macon in 1997. In Macon, she was a member of Tattnall Square Baptist Church. Mrs. Reba was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Frances Willingham Ogletree. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Robert C. Cooper, three brothers and four sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Earl) Corbett; a son, Dan (Wendi) Cooper; two grandchildren, James Jackson; and Ryan (Katie) Thompson; one sister, Louise Smith; her dearly loved furry companion of 6 years, Jack, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held graveside at Oconee Hill Cemetery, Athens, at 2:00pm on Saturday, April 8, 2017. Bridges Funeral Home in Athens is in charge of final arrangements.
