Raymond Jackson Fordham

Raymond Jackson Fordham, 89, of Macon passed away December 27, 2020. A Graveside Service will be Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Central Grove Church of God Cemetery, 877 Old Prison Camp Rd, McRae GA with the Reverend David Dean and Terry Davis officiating.

Raymond was born November 7, 1931 to the late Alonzo and Doretha Fordham. He is survived by his wife, Willene Garrison Fordham of Macon; two sons, Raymond Jeffery Fordham (Patricia) of Gray, David Wayne Fordham of Douglas, Georgia; one daughter, Cynthia Barfield of Trinity, Florida; seven grandchildren, Derrick Barfield (Tawonna) of Sylvia, North Carolina, Shane Bookhardt (Anna) of Springfield, Georgia, Keisha Wallace (Andy) of Baxley, Georgia, Shannon Gant (Aaron) of Roberta, Georgia, Megan King (Joel) of Hazelhurst, Georgia and Sandra Dickens (Robert) of Albany, Georgia.  He also had numerous great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by grandson, Stephen Fordham.

Before moving to Jones County, Raymond and his wife, Willene, were members of Hazlehurst Pentecostal Church in Hazlehurst, Georgia.

Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He was a member of Ironworkers Local 808, Orlando Florida.  As an Ironworker he worked on the initial construction of Cape Kennedy for eight years, Walt Disney World and other job sites throughout Florida and Georgia.  Raymond enjoyed gardening and fishing.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Raymond to a children's charity of their choice.
