Raymond Manning Bailey: 62 of Macon, Georgia passed away Friday, January 2, 2009. Funeral service will be held Monday, December 5, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in the Hart's Mortuary Chapel, Cherry Street. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Reverend Kevin Sapp will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, December 4, 2009 in the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. till 5:00 p.m. Born in Bibb County, he was the son of the late Otis Manning Bailey. He was a combat veteran in the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam and was awarded two purple hearts while in service. He was a retired welder and foreman with Elliott's Machine Shop in Macon and was an avid guitar player. Mr. Bailey was predeceased by his wife, Anne MacEwen Bailey. He is survived by his daughters, Emily Bailey Ashley (Michael) of Culloden, Ga.; Tryphena Bailey (Jeanie Wells) of Macon, Ga. Grandchildren, Amado Lazaro of Macon and Brody Ashley of Culloden, Ga; Mother, Annie Bailey of Macon; Sister, Ann Elston(Ron) of Warner Robins, Ga.; Brother, Franklin Wood of Cumming, Ga.; Several nieces. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry St. Macon, Georgia 31201. Family may be contacted at 303 Dale Ave. Macon, Ga. 31217.
