Randall Hillman “Randy” Sanders passed away on March 30, 2026, after a brief illness.
Randy was born in Macon, Georgia, to Albert H. Sanders, Jr. and Mildred Hillman Sanders. He graduated from Lanier High School in 1966, where he was a standout member of the Lanier varsity golf team.
Randy then attended the University of Georgia. He was a member of the UGA freshman golf team and Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Randy graduated with a B.S. in Business (Finance) from UGA in 1971 and was a huge fan of Georgia football all his life.
Randy married Anne Arnall Bryant of Newnan, Georgia on June 5, 1971. Randy and Anne had four children, Everett Bryant Sanders, Thomas Hillman Sanders, Alexander Davis Sanders, and Anna Sanders Greer.
Randy worked as a banker at First National Bank for several years before becoming a stockbroker with Merrill Lynch in 1976. Randy worked in investments for the rest of his career, before retiring from UBS Paine Webber in 2002.
Randy was a highly skilled golfer for many years. He was also an avid reader, lover of animals, and a world traveler.
Randy played blues harmonica at a semi-professional level for over forty years. He was a member of the rock bands Tron Jackson and Gringo Grande with his son Alex and his son-in-law George. Randy also played with Charlie Musselwhite and Johnny Jenkins, among other notable blues and rock names.
Randy loved Macon and served on multiple boards in the community. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, where he co-chaired the Stewardship Campaign for several years with his good friend Steve Popper.
Randy was also a member of Idle Hour Club and the Macon Civic Club, where he played harmonica onstage at the Grand Opera House every year until his musical retirement in 2020. Randy, whose nickname since high school was “Landlord”, was kind and funny, and had friends of all ages across the state of Georgia.
Randy was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Mildred, and his sons, Bryant and Thomas. Randy is survived by his devoted wife, Anne, his son Alex (Ware), his daughter Anna (George), and four grandchildren, Herry and Mamie Sanders and Kate and Hank Greer, all of Macon.
