Ramona Hutchings Hunnicutt

Ramona Hutchings Hunnicutt, 96, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025.  A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Hart’s at the Cupola. Funeral services will follow on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Ingleside Baptist Church, with Dr. Mark Hudgins officiating.  The family will also greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.

Ramona was born in Macon on September 10, 1928, to the late Virgil Ray Hutchings and Irene Noles Hutchings.  She attended Bruce Elementary School and graduated from the Macon Hospital School of Nursing in March of 1951, embarking on a career that exemplified her nurturing spirit and unwavering commitment to caring for others.  She retired as a Registered Nurse from Keebler Corporation after 35 years.

Her dedication to her faith was evident to all who knew her, as she was a member of Mabel White Baptist Church starting in 1951, and later a cherished member of Ingleside Baptist Church.  At Ingleside she was a member of the Journey Sunday School Class and was an Intercessor in the Prayer Ministry.  It was clear to all that the Holy Spirit had given her the gift of Prayer.  She was also known for her fervent, compassionate sharing of her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and the Gospel to everyone.

Ramona will be lovingly remembered by her son, Captain Thomas G. Hunnicutt, U.S. Navy (Retired) (Janet); and grandchildren: Elizabeth Lowe (Adam), Sarah Weber (Ryan), and MSG (Select) Patrick Hunnicutt, U.S. Army; and six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Captain Thomas J. Hunnicutt, MPD (Retired); parents, Virgil and Irene Hutchings; and brother, Billy Hutchings.

The family requests no visitors or food but will remain in private mourning until the visitation and the funeral service.
