Rachel Lacora Douglas

LaCora Douglas, age 84, passed away on April 3, 2018. Born in Sandersville, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Rachel Adams. A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 5 at 11:00am at High Point Church, 2963 Hollis Road in Macon (with visitation following the service, and a meal for immediate family and out-of-town guests). A private interment will be held on April 6 in Sandersville, Georgia. LaCora was a loving homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family and many others. She received a degree in education from Berry College and was a founding member of High Point Church. She lived her faith according to James 1:27: "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." She was affectionately known as "the Mema" and loved everyone as her own. LaCora is survived by her husband of 63 years, Raymond Douglas of Macon; her daughter Amelia (Parks) Wilson of Oviedo, Florida, and her sons Alan Douglas of Rincon, Georgia and David (Lynn) Douglas of Lizella, Georgia; her brother Thomas William Adams of Pell City, Alabama and her sister Janice Musgrove of Macon, Georgia; 11 grandchildren (her "angels"!) and 8 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Mike "The Hat" Douglas. Flowers may be sent to Hart's Mortuary at the Cupola or donations made to the charity of the donor's choice.

A visitation will follow the service.
