Phillip E. "Gene" Johnson Jr. 76, of Byron, Georgia passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Downtown. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Born in Macon, Georgia, he was the son of the late Phillip E. Johnson Sr. and Frances Myrick Johnson. He was a graduate of Lanier High School Class of 1954, where he was first chair trumpet in the school band. Mr. Johnson was retired Civil Service with over 32 years of service with the Internal Revenue Service and Robins Air Force Base. He was a member of the AICPA and the Aero Club on Robins Air Force Base. He was a private pilot and also a member of the Moose Lodge. He is survived by his sons, Phillip E. Johnson III of Byron, Georgia; Robert Timothy Johnson(Kelli) of Warner Robins, Ga. and Mark D. Johnson(Brittany) of Byron, Georgia. Eight Grandchildren and Five great Grandchildren; Brother, Robert Wayne Johnson(Glenda) of Yuma, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, C/O Antebellum Grove Assisted Living 1010 Kathryn Ryals Road, Warner Robins, Ga. 31088.
