Philip "Doug" Douglas Woody

Philip Douglas "Doug" Woody was born December 20, 1929 in Gainesville, Georgia to Philip Robert Woody and Ruth Dooley Woody. He passed away June 19, 2016 in Macon. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Tommie Sheffield Woody; and one sister, Joan W. Wilder (Roy). Also, his prides and joys are his four daughters, Kris W. Cutright (Ray), Karen W. Priest (Hal), Beth W. Combs (Ronnie), Donna W. Bowen (Todd), and one step-daughter, Vonne Sheffield. Also, surviving are twelve grandchildren, Lauren C. Matthews (Tripp), Jeffrey Cutright, Gerral Cutright, Richard Stembridge (Sara Beth), Kinsey Cutright, Hallie P. Cason (Jason), Wesley Priest, Christopher Priest, Madison H. Argo (Will), Macie Hinson, Katie Howell, and Brooke Buie; six great grandchildren; six nieces and nephews; and his loving cat, Boots. He was predeceased by one infant son; and step-daughter, Gail Sheffield. Doug graduated from Lyman Hall High School in Gainesville, Georgia. He served four years in the Air Force as Airborne Radio Operator with Air-Sea Rescue during the Korean Conflict. After discharge he attended Young Harris College and received a BS from North Georgia College. He was employed for many years as a pharmaceutical representative. He returned to God's loving arms surrounded by his family on Father's Day. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will be in private in Oakwood, Georgia.
