Perry Donald "Don" Fitzgerald

Perry Donald "Don" Fitzgerald, 79, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2016. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at First Evangelical Church with the Reverend Tim Long officiating. Burial will be in Omega Cemetery in Omega, Georgia. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In Don's younger years, he enjoyed sports. He was an umpire in Little League games and at one time he coached a team at Vine-Ingle and Western Little League. Don also played softball in a church league for the Macon Evangelistic Church. He played any position where he was needed, performing well at each. He loved the Atlanta Braves. Don was a member of First Evangelical Church. He worked for many years as a greeter at the Zebulon Road Walmart and valued employee for Chi-Chesters. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Jack Fitzgerald and Bob Fitzgerald. Survivors include his wife, Helen Jane Fitzgerald of Macon; four children, Kelly Oliver (Danny) of Macon, Don Fitzgerald (Patty) of Juliette, Georgia, Sandra Shelton (Ronald) of Macon, and Debbie Griggers of Macon; five grandchildren, Daniel Oliver, Benjamin Oliver, Donny Fitzgerald, Jimmy Fitzgerald, and Tommy Fitzgerald; and sister, Peggy Powell (Bo) of Macon.
