Peggie Britt Long

Peggie Britt Long, 86, of Gray, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022, after a long battle with Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date at Lake Burton, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cure Alzheimer's Fund, 34 Washington ST, Suite 310, Wellesley Hills, MA 022481, www.womenandalzheimers.org and www.curealzfund.org .

Mrs. Long was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Paul T. Britt and Ophelia Jerkins Britt. She attended Miller High School. Mrs. Long worked in bookkeeping for Macon Coca-Cola Bottling Company and in the offices of Fluker Associates of Macon. After she and her husband, Jack, retired they spent many days traveling in their motor home with their grand children and friends. They also enjoyed large gatherings of friends at local restaurants. Mrs. Long is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Long. She is survived by daughter, Anna Faye lijima (Masahiro) of Gray, GA; sons, Jack H. Long, Jr (William Hockett) of Las Vegas, NV and Thomas A. Long (Ronda) of Gray, GA; grandchildren, Thomas Britt Long of Macon and Ryan Chase Long of Gray.

Hart’s Jones County Chapel, Hart's Mortuary and Cremation Center, 307 Pecan Lane, Gray, GA 31032 has charge of the arrangements.
