Pearlene Gordon Young, 89, of Macon, Georgia, passed away May 6, 2025. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery, with Dr. Laudis Lanford officiating.  The family will greet friends following the service.

Daughter of the late L.V. Gordon and Mildred Gordon Parker, Pearlene was born in Macon on October 3, 1935. She graduated from A.L. Miller High School and earned an associate’s degree from Crandall Business College. For many years she worked as a Registrar for the Bibb County Board of Education.

Pearlene had a love for arts and crafts and was often found with a paintbrush or craft tool in hand, creating beauty and sharing her love for creativity with those around her.

Pearlene will be lovingly remembered by her children: Cynthia Ann Durden Lewis (Bob), John Jeffery “Jeff” Durden (Denise), and Mary Ann Young Moore; daughter-in-law, Judy Durden; grandchildren: Angela Dawn Durden, Joshua Robert Durden (Marrisa), Jarrett D. Moore, and Jason Edward Moore; and great grandchildren, Aidan Joshua Durden, and Wyatt Davis.

In addition to her parents, Pearlene was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon E. Young; son, Richard Anthony “Andy” Durden, and son-in-law, Willard Moore.
