Paul Bernard Parsons, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 25, 2021, surrounded by family, following a brief illness. Paul is now with his Lord and Savior. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel, with Pastor John Sheeley officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
Paul moved from the United Kingdom to the United States in February of 1954 with his father on the steam liner, Il de France. They arrived in New York City as immigrants to join his mother and sister, who had already settled in Macon, Georgia. Although he never became an American citizen during his life, he proudly served in the United States Army. Paul was a carpenter by trade for over forty years and owner of Parsons’ Cabinets and Fixture Company. During his lifetime, he had many hobbies and passions. He had always been an animal lover as a young child with typical household pets. Later in life his love of animals turned to horses, tropical fish, falconry and show pigeons. Paul’s other hobbies included woodworking, taxidermy, stamp collecting, gardening, camping, and photography. His favorite photography subjects were his children.
Paul will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Alva June Parsons; parents, Robert Bernard and Joan Mary Parsons; and niece, Melissa Blount Sheppard.
Paul is survived by his three children, Stefan B. Parsons (Kim) of Gray, Katrina P. Daniels (Will) of Juliette, Georgia, and Robert A. Parsons (Rachel) of Lizella, Georgia; grandchildren, Hannah and Evan Parsons, Marissa Robinson, Madison and Carson Daniels, Lillie, Parks and Pierce Parsons; sister, Davinia Parsons Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
