Paul John Milanek, Jr., age 82, of Macon, GA, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2023.  A memorial service will be held Friday, July 28, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Inurnment will be private at Riverside Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jones County Animal Services, 1015 Monticello Hwy, Gray, GA 31032.

Born on January 10, 1941, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Paul was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his strong work ethic, and his contagious sense of humor. Paul is survived by his adoring wife of 61 years, Janice Beck Milanek, and their three children: Paul C. Milanek (Jacque) of Gray, Ann Milanek Treiber (Phillip), of Macon, and Mark J. Milanek, Sr. (Shannon) of Warner Robins, Georgia. He was the loving grandfather to Randy Mark Treiber, Amber Rader (Kent), Erin Milanek, Nathan Phillip Treiber (Brittany), Mark John Milanek, Jr., and Michaela Jeanette Milanek, and great-grandfather to Jonathan Paul Scarbary, Benjamin Kent Rader and Mason Henry Rader. He also leaves behind his brother, Richard Milanek (Lorraine). Paul was preceded in death by a grandchild, his parents, Paul J. Sr. and Anna Sefcik Milanek, and sister, Joan Kern.

Paul was a graduate of Cleveland Institute and Georgia Southern.  He worked as an electrician at Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation for 25 years. He was known for his keen attention to detail and commitment to his craft. His colleagues remember him most for his unyielding integrity, his infectious laughter that brightened up the workplace, and his willingness to lend a helping hand. His dedication to his job was second only to his dedication to his family. Paul was a beacon of strength and resilience, always putting the needs of his loved ones first. He was known for his storytelling, often sharing tales of his childhood in Pittsburgh and his experiences as a young man. His stories were filled with wisdom, humor, and love, reflecting the rich tapestry of his life. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of his loved ones who will strive to honor his life by living theirs with the same love, integrity, and kindness that Paul demonstrated every day. In his leisure time, Paul enjoyed spending time with his family, keeping his yard meticulous and he enjoyed gardening. He enjoyed watching sports, especially when his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers were playing. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing ball or telling them stories about his life. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication that will continue to inspire his family for generations to come. Paul's life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and hard work. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew him and loved him. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now at peace and reunited with his beloved grandchild, Michaela, and his sister, Joan. He was a man of great faith, strength and character, and his life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and hard work.
