Patricia Gibson Tucker

Patricia Gibson Tucker, 79, of Macon, Georgia passed peacefully in her sleep Friday afternoon, October 7, 2011. Memorial services will be held Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary at the Cupola. Reverend Gary Harmon will officiate. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home.

Born in Rockford, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Paul Royal Gibson and Eleanor Keyser Gibson. She was a member of Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church. She was a graduate of the James Ward Thorne School of Nursing in Chicago, IL, a part of Northwestern University. She practiced nursing as an RN for over 25 years, was employed by the Crippled Children's Clinic and was the first registered nurse at Hospice of Central Georgia. She was a cadet troop leader of the Girl Scouts and played the cello with the Macon Symphony. She was predeceased by her step son Tony Tucker and a brother Paul Gibson, Jr. and Sister in law, Esther Gibson Lawhon.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Kennis Tucker of Macon; children, Margaret (David) Kreate of Cincinnati, Ohio; John (Jane) Hall of Macon, Caroline(Scott) Murphy of Macon, Karen Tucker of Macon, and Jack Tucker of Savannah. Grandchildren, Amelia (Brandon) Ruddell of Athens; Mary Claire Murphy of Nashville, Tennessee, Brian Murphy of Macon, Laura (John) Griffies of Sharpsburg, Georgia, Adam Dukes of Charleston, South Carolina, Ben Dukes of Atlanta, Christopher (Allison) Bryant of Warner Robins, Alaina Bryant and Keilan Bryant , both of Macon. Great grandchildren, Susanna Griffies, Helena Rose Bryant, and Jelia Bryant; and nieces Sue Stanton, Barb (Frank) Sarbaugh, Brena Gibson, and Dale Ross.
