Patricia Ann Stembrdge Chafin

Patricia Ann Stembridge Chafin Our beautiful mother, Pat Chafin, was welcomed into heaven on Sunday, January 31, 2016. She was born February 6, 1929 in Macon, Georgia to Jack C. Stembridge and Thelma Dobson Stembridge. Pat was preceded in death by her loving husband, Loran "Cotton" Chafin; and her sister, Louise Stembridge Holloway. She was a graduate of Miller High and attended nursing school as well. Pat dearly loved the Lord and was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church of Macon. After retiring from Cigna in 1988, she had time to enjoy her many talents and hobbies. She took up bicycling in her later years and enjoyed several cycling trips with her two daughters. Her greatest joys were each trips with her family and extensive traveling with her daughters and grandson. Her sewing talents began in her early years outfitting her daughters. Later years revealed her talents for making window treatments, pillows, and bedding for friends and designers from her home workroom. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Patty Chafin Hannigan (Raymond Hannigan) of Bryan, Texas, Lauren Chafin Sutton (John Sutton) of Johns Island, South Carolina; beloved grandson, Rush Hannigan of Houston, Texas; and treasured niece and friend, Linda Holloway Maddox of Macon. We would like to thank her wonderful and loving caregivers, Ann Dennis, Stoney Dennis, and Pam Woddard. We are eternally grateful for the kindness and compassion they bestowed on our mother. Visitation will be held at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 10:30-11:30AM. Graveside services will be private. Memorials may be sent to a charity of your choice.
