Otis "Sam " Simmons

Otis "Sam" Simmons, 87, of 3393 Sgoda Road, died Saturday, June 16, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Real Life Church with the Reverends Clint Jett and J. E. Thornton officiating. Burial will be in Hinson Cemetery, Twiggs County. The family will greet friends Monday from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. The family may be contacted at the residence. Mr. Simmons attended Victory Christian Center and was a member of Real Life Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Robins Air Force Base. He was the son of the late Henry Simmons and the late Mattie Lee Smith Simmons. Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife, Nevonia Simmons of Macon; six children, Sammy Otis Simmons of Macon, Sharon Nevonia Collins (Michael) of Macon, Brenda Allyn Metz of Macon, Janis Marie Johnson of Macon, Wonda Dale Slayton of Gray, Rachel Denise Butler (Joe Wayne) of Macon; seventeen grandchildren; thirty five great grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Pettis of Macon, and Pat Mascott of Byron; and many nieces and nephews.
