Orlean Hanna Roewer, 84, of Macon Georgia, entered the gates of heaven and was greeted by her Savior on November 10, 2013. Graveside service for family and friends will be held in Birmingham, Alabama at Elmwood Cemetery, Wednesday, November 13 at 1pm officiated by Dr. Frank Barker. A joyful celebration of her life will be held Thursday, November 14 at 2pm in Macon GA at North Macon Presbyterian Church. Orlean was born to Thomas Anderson Hanna and Louise Burns Hanna in Birmingham, Alabama. She attended Chevy Chase College in Maryland. She traveled the world as the wife of the late Col. John D. Woodson, a West Point graduate. She enjoyed her time at the beach in the Ft. Lauderdale area for nearly forty years before moving to Macon. Orlean is survived by her brother Thomas Anderson Hanna, Jr. (Nan), niece Rachel Lynn Hanna, nephew Mark Anderson Hanna; preceded in death by her sister, Annabelle Gresham Salmon. Her nieces, Eleanor Salmon and Louise Hudson (Arthur) reside in the Central Alabama area. Her two loving children: Murray Woodson Todd (David) of Macon, GA and John Thomas Woodson of Loveland, Colorado ; her adoring grandchildren, David James Todd (Holly), Jessica Todd Butler (Morris), and Joanna Todd Griffin (Adam); and her cherished ten great-grandchildren, David James Todd, jr, Anna Caroline Todd, Eleanor Frances Todd, Mary Blue Butler, Sallie Orlean Butler, Lee Morris Butler jr, Benjamin Woodson Butler, Sam Parker Griffin, John Breckinridge Griffin, and Ruth Louise Griffin.
