Opal "Mamaw" Hawks Stewart

Opal "Mamaw" Hawks Stewart, of Macon, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon Ga. Reverend Cass DuCharme Will be officiating. The family will greet friends at the graveside from 1 PM til 2 PM. Mrs. Stewart was born in Milledgeville GA to the late Gibbs and Inez Hawks. She was a hairdresser in her earlier years before becoming a stay at home mom. Mrs. Stewart had a strong love for family and friends and was sometimes affectionately known as the "neighborhood mom." She was in the Moose Club and was also the "Jitterbug Champion" of the Moose Club. Mrs. Stewart was a member of Centenary Methodist Church. Mrs. Stewart is survived by her son, Robert A. Stewart III; daughter, Leslie S. Dixon (John); Grandchildren, Shana Cannon (Charlie), Lacey Marsh (Jeremy), Cecily Oxford (Hannah Witherington), "Beau" Robert A. Stewart IV (Janine Faircloth) and Brooke Danielle Stewart (Jacob Bruner). She is also survived by her Great Grandchildren, Bella Oxford, Harper Oxford- Marsh, Elliott Cannon, Olivia Cannon.
