Olivia Beth Mccullough Childs

Olivia Beth McCullough Childs, 73, of Gray, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.  A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 11:00am, at Highview Cemetery in Gray, Georgia, with Reverend John Haney officiating. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local church in honor of Beth Childs.

Beth was born on January 23, 1952, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Andrew Scott and Wanda McCullough.  She worked as a secretary at the McNair, McLemore, & Middlebrooks Accounting Firm, where she retired in her later years.

She was a woman of strong faith, and that unwavering faith carried her through her life, and through her illness.  Her deep love for the Lord filled her with joy that she shared with her family, friends, and anyone she came in contact with.  Beth loved her walks on the beach at St. Simon’s Island.  It was her way of connecting to nature and to the Creator of this beautiful world.

Beth loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She was a member of Gray Methodist Church.  She found solace in her church and her Bible studies.

Beth is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Ponder Childs; her daughter, Monica Lane (Gary); her son, Chip Childs (Ellyn Ammann); three grandchildren, Grayson Lane, Olivia Hamlin (Jackson), and Will Lane; her great-grandchild, Max Hamlin; her sister, Joanna Watson (Frank); her brother, Tom McCullough; and her beloved companion, Daisy.  She is preceded in death by her parents.
