Norman N. Ribeiro

Norman N. Ribeiro, 96, died Thursday, September 19, 2013. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 2:00PM at Macon Memorial Park with the Reverend Andy Pickens officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Born and raised in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Mr. Ribeiro had been a resident of Macon for more than seventy years. He was a member of Cherokee Heights Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his wife, Esther Helon Olmstead Ribeiro. Mr. Ribeiro was very active in the Fraternal Order of the Eagles where he held several elected positions including President and National Secretary and was in the State Hall of Fame. He was the owner of United Refrigeration. A veteran of the United States Army, he served as a Staff Sergeant in World War II. Mr. Ribeiro loved watching football and baseball. Mr. Ribeiro is survived by his daughter, Dolores R. Walden of Macon; grandsons, Gregory Scott Walden of Macon and Jason Clark Walden of Los Angeles, California; great-grandson, Ellison Walden of Birmingham, Alabama.
