Norma Jean Webster Sanderson

Norma Jean Webster Sanderson was born and raised in Williamston, Michigan, on a dairy farm. There, she developed her lifelong skills and passion of cooking, sewing and gardening before heading to Michigan State University where she met her husband, Jack, through a dormitory shoe-shine charity event. They married September 8, 1956. After receiving her B.A. in Education, she and Jack moved to England where he was serving active duty with the Air Force.

Norma enjoyed a teaching career through the years, preparing next generations as a teacher of elementary, junior high and high school. She also received her Master’s degree in Guidance Counseling, eventually serving over 50 years in educational roles.

She and Jack spent over 15 years living in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia where she taught at the International School. Her love for cooking transcended into establishing a cooking school for bachelor ex-pats and hosting multiple holiday events and dinner parties over the years. She and Jack shared a passion for travel that took them around the world, and they loved every minute of it.

Norma & Jack have been blessed with 4 children (Wende, Erin, Russell and Gretchen), 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and remembered by family and friends across the globe.
