Norm Pumphrey

Macon-Norm Pumphrey died Tuesday, June 23, 2009. A celebration of life will be held at 7:00PM on Friday, June 26, 2009 at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with The Reverend Gina Alexander officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1775 The Exchange SE, Suite 200, Atlanta, GA 30339; or to donor's choice of charity.

Mr. Pumphrey graduated from VA Tech with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII. Mr. Pumphrey grew up in Arlington, VA and lived in Boca Raton, FL for 27 years and Macon for 24 years. Norm was a fantastic, loving husband, father, and friend. He worked in the Engineering Department of the Macon Water Authority from 1987 - 2001. Norm was an avid sportsman and golfer who shot his age at 83. He was a strong supporter of Theatre Macon.

Mr. Pumphrey is survived by his wife of 39 years, Doris Fisk Pumphrey of Macon; four daughters, Noreen Faye King (Bryce), Georganna Buckalew (Paul), Martha Lee Stauch (Randy), and Marty Jean Duerr (Steffan); ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Clark (Wayne) and Virginia Webb.
