Nettie Mae Dekle

Nettie Dekle, beloved mother of five, grandmother of 19, great-grandmother of 10, and affectionately known as "Mama D" died on July 25, 2011 at the age of 88.

Funeral services will be 2:00PM on Friday, July 29, 2011 at Riverside United Methodist Church with the Reverend Alan Benson officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park. Visitation will be between 7 and 8 pm on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Hart's Mortuary at the Cupola. Flowers are accepted, but donations may be made to Riverside United Methodist Church, 735 Pierce Avenue, Macon, GA 31204.

Born in Cordele, Georgia to the late William Giles Webb and the late Nettie Lee Cunningham and predeceased by her husband, Dr. Marcus Reid Dekle, Sr., she was a resident of Macon for over 60 years. Mama D lived her life to the fullest enjoying travel, working in the garden, football season and, most of all, her family and friends.

Survivors include her sister, Mary Paschal of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Glenda Gregory (Alex) of Duluth, GA; daughter, Diedre McMichael (Bob) of Macon; son, Mark Dekle (Deanna) of New Ringgold, PA; daughter, Jan Gibson (Billy) of Bolingbroke; son, Rob Dekle of Milledgeville; 19 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
