Neil M. Andrus

Neil Martin Andrus, age 77 passed quietly away Wednesday August 23rd, 2017, after a long battle with cancer. Neil was raised on a farm in Englishville and lived in Sparta for many years. He spent his later years in North and South Carolina and then retirement in Macon Georgia, where his beloved daughter Roxanne, her husband, Nicolaas and children, Parker, Haley, and Scott reside. Neil is also survived by his son, Dennis Andrus, of Pawley's Island South Carolina, and Dennis' children Jace and Jaylynn. Also surviving Neil is his sister-in-law, Marlene Andrus; brothers, Dale and wife Becki Andrus, Leonard Andrus, Leo and wife Patti Andrus; and sister Charlene and husband Ed Bryant. Neil was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Roxie Andrus, sister, Shirley Nason, and his brother, Emory (Ray). Neil was very proud of his athletic prowess at Sparta High School. He loved the many years he played softball with the Pennington's on Charlie Twichell's team. The thing he most loved was deer hunting with his brothers and nephews out west. He served ten years in the National Guard. He was most proud of working in the children's apparel business for HH Cutler and later VF Corporation and then Gerber Children's Wear. He started many manufacturing plants from the ground up and later worked in quality control with government standards. Neil will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.
