Nancy Wayne Sanders Ford

Nancy Wayne Sanders Ford, 82, of Macon, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 20, 2025. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Nancy.

Nancy, or “Nank” to many people, eloped with her husband, Mike, while attending high school in Lenoir City, TN. After 15 years split between Atlanta, GA and Chattanooga, TN, Nancy and Mike moved to Macon, GA in 1976. Through homes and adventures all over the world, they enjoyed 65 years of marriage.

Nancy was a spitfire who never met a stranger and always enjoyed a party with a piano. There wasn’t a day that she didn’t look for an eclectic pair of earrings, a saucy conversation, or a moment enjoying the outdoors. She attended Wesleyan University and Middle Georgia State University. Later in life, she loved volunteering and regularly playing the piano for the patients and visitors at Pine Pointe Hospice.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Elbridge Gerry and Nancy Isabell Sanders. She is survived by her loving husband, Mike, two sons: Chris Ford (Waynette) of Savannah, GA and Gerry Ford (Paula) of Monroe, NC, two grandchildren: Carrie Ellen Ford of Clyde, NC and Benjamin Ford of Monroe, NC, and one great-granddaughter, Macy Green of Clyde, NC.
