Myrtle Giddens Tyson

Myrtle Giddens Tyson, of Macon, passed away Friday July 28, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, July 31, 2017, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Hart's Cherry Street location. Flowers will be accepted. Mrs. Tyson was born August 18, 1922, in Eastman, GA. She had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1947 and was a member of the Reflectors Sunday School Class. Mrs. Tyson worked with sheet metal at RAFB during World War II and was a longtime bookkeeper for C & S Bank, First Atlanta and Wachovia. She was also a member of the Pine Ridge Garden Club. Mrs. Tyson was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Tyson, Sr. Survivors: Son, Tee (Susan) Tyson of Macon; Daughter, Teena Tyson (Michael) Ivie of Brooks, GA; Grandchildren, Terri Lynn Tyson, John Lewis, Richard Lewis, Christina Tyson, Christopher Tyson, Mallory Ivie (Kyle) Arnold, Mollie Ivie and Judson Ivie; Great grandchildren, Levi and Annie Arnold; Brother, Marvin (Elizabeth) Giddens of Eastman, GA and sister, Clarice Sheehan of Macon.
