Myrtle Hulett Rawlins died Friday, July 31, 2009, at her home in Twiggs County. Myrtle was born in Telfair County, Georgia, on May 8, 1928. She was the daughter of Joe and Lottie Hulett. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lanier Rawlins, and a daughter, Belinda Rawlins Johnson (John). She is survived by three other children: Gary Rawlins (Nancy) of Macon; Tim Rawlins (Tommie Lynn) of Woodbury, GA; and Melanie R. McLendon (Dennis) of Covington, GA; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters: Ruth Selph, Lena Burch, Mildred Collins and Betty Cook. A celebration of Myrtle's life will be held at Antioch Baptist Church in Dry Branch, Georgia, on Sunday, August 2 at 3:00PM with the Reverend Kelly Pritchett officiating. The family will receive guests at the church following the ceremony. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Antioch Baptist Church, 7507 Old Gordon Road, Dry Branch, GA 31020.
