Macon- Myrtle Burnette Hogan, 71, of 5471 Marion Road, died Thursday, June 25, 2009. Services will be held Monday, June 29, 2009 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. The Reverend Rodney Peavy will officiate. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Stone Creek Baptist Church, 854 Riggins Mill Road, Dry Branch, GA 31020. Mrs. Hogan was a member of Stone Creek Baptist Church. Born in James, GA, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Burnette and the late Louise Hawkins Burnette. She was predeceased by her husband, Herman O. "Bo" Hogan; sisters, Kathryn Smith, Charlotte Bradley, Jonnie Amerson and Miriam Grimes and brothers, John Henry Burnette, Jr., Bobby Burnette and Billy Burnette. Mrs. Hogan loved playing the guitar. Mrs. Hogan is survived by her children, Zippy Alan Hogan of Macon, Gina H. McLean (Billy) and Andy L. Hogan (Johnnie), all of Dry Branch; grandchildren, Dustin Hogan of Statesboro, Devin Hogan of Bolingbroke, Cody McLean, Landon McLean, Abby Hogan and Maddy Hogan, all of Dry Branch; sisters, Emily Bryant of Fort Pierce, FL, Jean Baxley of Perry, GA, Shirley Beck, Nell Bowden and Cathy Horne, all of Gray; good friend, Roy Killebrew.
