Myrtle Peacock Andrews

Myrtle Peacock Andrews passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 2:00PM at Immanuel Baptist Church, 129 Yukon Road, Macon, GA 31217, with the Reverends Richard Bobo, Joe Ferguson and Ron McClung officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 6:00-8:00PM at the Hart's Mortuary, Jones County Chapel, 307 Pecan Lane, Gray, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund, 129 Yukon Road, Macon, GA 31217. Myrtle was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, James Alvin Andrews, Sr.; parents, Henry Farris Peacock and Lillie Mae Garrett Peacock; three sisters and one brother. During her lifetime, she was a gracious hostess and enjoyed being involved in many church activities. She was a member of numerous senior citizen groups, took food to the sick and shut-ins, helped others with meals, caretaking, babysitting, taught preschool, chaperoning youth groups and taking others to doctor appointments. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was Corporate Secretary for Andrews Mechanical and Sprinkler Company. Myrtle is survived by her sons, Al Andrews (Nancy) of Jones County, GA, Dennis Andrews (Jan) of Jones County, GA, and Mark Andrews (Pat) of Jones County, GA; grandchildren, Katie Phillips (Jason) of Cumming, GA, Jake Andrews (Kristy) of Gray, GA, Annie Bodi (Chip) of Dublin, GA, Ruthie Burress (Jody), of Athens, GA, Rebekah Myrtle White (Josh) of St. Simons, GA, Christy Andrews of Savannah, GA and Claire Schuchmann (Justin) of Boone, NC; ten great grandchildren; brothers, Junior Peacock of Cochran, GA, Braxton Peacock (Ruthie) of Macon, GA; and sister Wynell Long of Cochran, GA.
