Macon-With a sad and grateful heart, the family of Myrtice Harrison Parker acknowledges that she has gone to be with her precious Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 02, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, February 4, 2010 in the chapel of Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Rd. Dr. Mark Hudgins will officiate. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park.
Born in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late John Binion Harrison and the late Dovie Dean May. She was a faithful member of Vineville Baptist Church. She was known both locally and throughout the state as the Matriarch of Parco, Inc. which later became Bankers Supply, Inc. She served as Georgia State President of the Pink Lady auxiliary in 1967 and enjoyed her volunteer work at the Macon Hospital as a Pink Lady for twenty plus years. She was honored as the Exchangette of the Year of the Macon Exchange Club in 1964.
Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her loving husband of seventy years, Carl H. Parker, and her daughter, Connie Parker Moor.
Survivors include three sons, C. Hugh Parker (wife Judy) of Macon, GA, Richard B. Parker (wife Martha) of Roswell, GA, and Kenneth H. Parker (wife Barrie) of St. Simons Island, GA; nine grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the home of Hugh and Judy Parker, 269 Albermarle Place on Wednesday from 6:00-7:00PM.
