Myra Shepard Moore

Myra Shepard Moore, 71, of Macon, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 9, 2023.

Myra was born on August 27, 1951, to the late Buck and Frances Shepard of Macon. She graduated from Dudley Hughes High School in 1970. She attended Macon Beauty School and worked as a licensed cosmetologist in the 70’s and 80’s.

Myra was an accomplished artist. She was featured several times in Art Doll Magazine with her whimsical creations and Macon Sketchbook featured her paintings of historical buildings. Myra’s artistic nature was expressed through every aspect of her life including her home and garden. Her inspirational art pieces will continue to touch hearts and remind us all of her unique creative ability.

Myra married the love of her life, Randy Moore in 2003. They enjoyed traveling, scuba diving, kayaking and building birdhouses together. Both loved the beach and enjoyed many memories with their family there. It was their happy place. Randy passed away in 2018 and Myra’s heart was never the same.

Myra was always at the center of her family. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Wendy (Dan) Sokol of Forsyth. Son, Charles (Michelle) Ward of Macon. Sister, Micki (Mike) Davis of Macon. Granddaughters, Leah Brentzel and Maya Ward. Many more family members and friends and her beloved dog and constant companion, Gracie.

The family will greet friends during a visitation at Hart’s Mortuary at the Copula on Thursday, February 16, 2023, from 5pm until 7pm. Everyone is encouraged to share their memories of Myra. Randy and Myra will take their final dive together in the Cayman Islands at a later date.
