Murray S. Brown

Murray Shropshire Brown, 78, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024.

Son of the late James and Edna Brown, Murray was born on December 15, 1945, in Atlanta, Georgia.

An avid enthusiast of water sports, Murray was most at peace with the sun on his face and the water at his feet. He spent countless days by the beach, a true lover of the ocean's vast beauty. He also had a love for fine automobiles.

Baptized in the Baptist faith, Murray was a caring man especially with the elderly which was reflected in his everyday actions and the love he radiated to those around him.

Murray is survived by his sister, Virginia Cutler; nephew, Robert A. McCord, IV (Susan Marie); nieces, Colyar M. Persons (Peter) and Ginger C. Mixon (Jeff); and nine great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Murray was preceded in death by his brother, James Brown, Jr.; sister, Carolyn McCord Anderson; nephew, Gregg Nixon; and great niece, Murray Ashley Nixon.
