Macon- Mona Childs Sims, of 6629 Hawkinsville Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 31, 2013. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home and may be contacted at the residence of Barbara Hardy, 6629 Hawkinsville Road. Services will be held Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery Mrs. Sims, the daughter of the late James Robert Childs and the late Minnie Arlene Chambers Childs, was born in Gray, Georgia on December 19, 1919. She was the wife of the late Byron Idom, who died in World War II, and the former wife of the late Ernest James Sims. Mrs. Sims was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church. Mrs. Sims is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Hardy of Macon, Mai-Lan and Bobby Ledbetter of Dahlonega, Georgia, and Nena and Donnie Gilreath of Macon;ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, Mason Watson, of Jeffersonville, Georgia.
