Miriam Cole Cohen, 93, passed away September 29, 2013 after a long and happy life. She was born in Turbeville, SC but moved to High Springs, FL with her family at an early age. Miriam was the youngest of seven children and had wonderful memories of her childhood. One of her brothers teased her that her ears had to jump out of the way of her smile. She remained there until graduating from High Springs High School. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Dr. Herbert Cohen. They married during the early days of WWII. Three months into their marriage Herbert was sent to the European Front and remained there for two and a half years. On his return, they settled in Macon, GA. She remained there for next 55 years. Miriam was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church and the Temple Beth Israel Sisterhood. She also was active in the Macon Service League. She is remembered to have had a quick wit, a beautiful singing voice and playing a mean game of bridge. At 83, Miriam moved to Jacksonville, FL to be close to her family. She remained there until her death. "Mimi" is survived by her daughter, Debbie Browning (Buster); grandchildren, Brooke Watridge (Chad), Arthur "Tripp" Browning III (Dorothy); and great grandchildren, Caia and Boyett Watridge. Nieces Janice Adshead and Sandra Pittman have been especially close to her. The family wishes to thank all of her bridge buddies who gave her much pleasure during her last years in Jacksonville. Mimi will be remembered for her kindness to all, her wonderful cooking, and her famous "Mimitini". A Graveside Service will be held Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 1:30PM in the William Wolff section of Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon, GA.
