Mildred Watkins "Millie" Moore, 86, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, died Saturday, January 8, 2011. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 11, at 1:00 pm at Hart's at the Cupola with Rev. Tony Caldwell, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Forsyth City Cemetery. Monday's visitation has been cancelled at Hart's at the Cupola. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Service. The family may be contacted at 1596 Wesleyan Bowman Road, the residence of Diane and Harry Rankin. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Riverside United Methodist Church, 735 Pierce Ave., Macon, GA, 31204.

Born and raised in Macon, Mrs. Moore attended Miller High School where she was a member of Sigma Alpha sorority. She was very proud to be the daughter of the late Chief Ben T. Watkins, who was Chief of Police in Macon for almost 40 years, and her precious mother, Ethel Brown Watkins. She was predeceased also by a brother that she loved dearly, Ben T. Watkins, Jr. She was the widow of the late Douglas Moore, who died at the early age of 59. She was a lifelong member of Cherokee Heights United Methodist Church, The Emma Durham Sunday School Class, and the United Methodist Women.

She had friends wherever she went. She loved life. She loved people and her family dearly. She was a loving and devoted mother to her three daughters. She was a very popular school patrol lady on Vineville Ave. in front of Clisby School for several years in the 60s. She retired from the United States Post Office, where she was a rural mail carrier.

She loved reading and writing letters and playing Bingo. She also loved watching "The Price is Right". She has lived at Peake Healthcare for the last 7 years, where she was a member of the "Red Hat Society". The family wishes to thank The Oaks at Peake for their loving and committed care.

She is survived by three daughters who loved her so much, Sheila M. (Tony) Caldwell, formerly of Macon now living in Cosby, TN, Betty M. (Doug) Parker of Macon and Diane M. (Harry) Rankin also of Macon; six grandchildren, Rev. Tony (Kim) Caldwell, Jr. of Savannah, Ben J. (Julie) Caldwell of Macon and John M. Caldwell of Newport, TN, Melanie P. (Doug) Martin of Dacula, GA, Susan S. (Billy) Nichols of Forsyth, and Amy R. (Lewis) Watson of Macon; 16 great-grandchildren; her sister, Isabelle Watkins Malone of Macon; and several nieces and nephews.
