Mike Sheridan

Michael “Mike” Joseph Sheridan, 70, of Macon, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Hart’s Mortuary at the Cupola in Macon. The family will greet friends following the service.

Born on November 5, 1954, in Macon, Mike was one of eight children, including six sisters and his cherished twin brother, Mark. The duo was well-known throughout Macon, especially through their family business, R.S. Thorpe’s, a fine men’s clothing store that served the community for over 30 years.

Mike was a dedicated salesman who deeply valued his customers. After Thorpe’s closed in 1999, he transitioned to the car business, where he continued to provide exceptional service.

He had a passion for golfing, fishing, and hunting, and was an enthusiastic cook who loved grilling for family and friends.

Mike met the love of his life, Denise, at 16. They married in 1975 after a long courtship and were blessed with two daughters, Courtney and Casey. In their later years, Mike and Denise lovingly raised their granddaughters, Brooklyn and Jordyn.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Donal and Marylou Sheridan of Macon, and his sisters Carol Shannon of Milledgeville and Janet Wachtel of Macon.

Mike is survived by his devoted wife, Denise Sheridan of Macon; daughters, Courtney King of Warner Robins and Casey Spires (Nick) of Milledgeville; grandchildren, Brooklyn King and Jordyn King of Macon, and Rhett Spires and Collin Spires of Milledgeville; his twin brother, Mark Sheridan (Vickie) of Macon; and sisters: Lee Hollifield of Virginia, Terri Poore (Tom) of Milledgeville, Debbie Huling of Warner Robins, and Donna Morris (Joel) of Macon.
