Michael L. Webb

Michael L. Webb, 72, of Macon, Georgia, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, with the Reverend Gary Abbott officiating.

Son of the late Neil Edmund Webb and Reba Wommack Webb, Michael was born in Macon, Georgia on December 16, 1950. He was an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Macon for many years. He attended Georgia College & State University and the University of Georgia, where he earned his EdD and PhD. He was currently a professor of history at Middle Georgia State University. He was previously a teacher and administrator in the Bibb, Crawford, and Jones Country school systems.

Michael is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Snow-Webb; daughters, Caitlin Webb and

Margaret Bennett (Ross); bonus daughter, Hannah Jones (Brandon); brother, Keith Webb (Mary Lynn); aunt, Jeanne Crawford; lifelong friend, Gladys Densley; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Sears.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or Appleton Episcopal Ministries at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, stpaulsmacon.org
