Michael Andrew Jones

Michael Andrew Jones, 61, of Macon, passed away November 1, 2017. Memorial services with military honors will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia 31210. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Go Fish Education Center, 1255 Perry Parkway, Perry, GA 31069. Mr. Jones was a graduate of Mercer University. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from C & A Transportation, where he worked for 22 years. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of the B.A. Hunting Club in Twiggs county. He was also a United States swimming official for 10 years. Mr. Jones loved spending his weekends at Lake Sinclair and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is predeceased by his father, Horace Ray Jones and step-father, Demery Kicklighter. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 41 years, Gail Jones; son Philip Jones (Laura Barton) of Macon; daughter, Heather Jones of Macon; grandchildren, Lula Kathryn Jones and Sullivan Andrew Jones, both of Macon; mother, Winnie Kicklighter of Gray; sisters, Kellie Jones of Macon, Vickie Ethridge (Sandy) of Gray and Debbie Mannis (Joel) of Atlanta; mother-in-law, Margarete Rantze; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
