Michael "Mike" D. Maxwell

Michael "Mike" D. Maxwell, 63, of Macon passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Mike was born and raised in Macon, Georgia and was a member of Doles United Methodist Church. He attended both Lanier and Willingham High Schools, served two years in the United States Army and later attended Macon Junior College. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base and enjoyed his part-time landscaping and pressure washing business.

He was the son of Martha Almon Maxwell and the late Crawford J. Maxwell. Mike is survived by his wife of 37 years Tonie Roberts Maxwell; daughter Jodi Maxwell Short (Mike); grandsons Carson and Cooper Short, brothers Randy Maxwell (Peggy), Joey Maxwell (Deanna) and sister, Marcia Maxwell Davidson (Dean) and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hart's at the Cupola. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 10th, at 11:00 a.m. at Doles United Methodist Church on Thomaston Road officiated by the Reverend Alan Fennell and Jerry Gregory. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
