Melba Moore Walker

Macon- Melba Moore Walker, 91, a former resident of St. Paul's Apartments, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at her daughter's home in Newnan, GA. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. The family will greet friends at the funeral home following the service. Mrs. Walker was born in Houston, Texas but lived in Macon most of her life. She worked as an Interior Design Consultant for Sears. Mrs. Walker was a member of Tattnall Square Baptist Church, Joy Seekers, Foster Bible Class, North Macon Keenagers and Sears' Retirees. She was the widow of Robert H. Walker and the daughter of the late Earnest L. Moore, Sr. and Irene McAuley. Mrs. Walker is survived by her daughter, Jerrie Walker McCullough and son-in-law, Bill McCullough of Newnan; two grandchildren, Rob McCullough of Winter Park, FL and Kim Hayes of Wyoming, DE; two sisters, Macie Roberts of Allentown, PA and Irene McCormick of Macon; brother, Dr. E. L. Moore of Macon; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tattnall Square Baptist Church, 4925 Zebulon Road, Macon, GA 31210, or to the donor's favorite charity.
