Melanie Bernard, 65, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM, on Saturday, March 1, 2014 in the chapel of Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with the Reverend Tommy Mason officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the Cupola. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, PO Box 149, Macon, Georgia 31202. Mrs. Bernard taught elementary school for 32 years in the Bibb County School District. She was a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church. She loved her dogs and cats. Survivors include her husband, Roger Bernard of Macon; four step-children, Stephanie Lev, Stacie Shively, Russell Bernard, and Charles Bernard, all of Ohio; 3 step grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild; and brother, Douglass Freeman of Port Charlotte, Florida.
