Meg Benoit

Meg Benoit, 83, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 1:00 PM, at Bradley Baptist Church, 821 Monticello Highway North, Gray, Georgia 31032, with the Reverend Steve Johnson officiating.  Family will greet friends following the service for a time of visitation. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Bradley Baptist Church in honor of Meg Benoit.

Meg was born on April 6, 1941, in her family home in Jones County, Georgia, to the late William Claude Glawson, Sr. And Etta Monsees Glawson. Meg graduated from Middle Georgia College.  She married Joseph Eugene “Gene” Benoit on June 17, 1962.  Meg enjoyed her life on the Cayman Islands where she worked with the island’s hotel association.

Meg was a huge Georgia Bulldog Fan and proudly sported her Bulldog attire on game days. She was also a huge Elvis Fan. She loved her family and will be missed dearly.

Meg is survived by her grandchildren, Ryan Taylor Thomas and Memori Grace Benoit Thomas, both of Cartersville, Georgia; her brother, William Claude “Buddy” Glawson, Jr. of Macon; her sister-in-law, Gwenn Glawson; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene Benoit; her daughter, Brigitte Benoit; and her sisters, Claudine Hairston and Glenice Wright.

The family would like to thank Meg’s caregivers, Virginia Williams, Benita Lollis, and Elaine Vinson, for being so kind and compassionate to Meg during this difficult time.
