Maydell Crawford Williams

Maydell Crawford Williams age 96 of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 16th at 11:00 at Parkway Assembly of God Church with the Reverends Joe E. Williams Jr., John Dougherty, and Jordan Hilkey officiating.  Burial will be at Macon Memorial Park.  The family will greet friends at the church from 10 to 11 o’clock.

Mrs. Williams moved to Macon as a young girl with her minister father and mother.  She was educated in the Bibb County Public School System.  In her younger years, she worked at W. T. Grant as head cashier.  As a charter member of Parkway Assembly of God Church (formally Houston Avenue Assembly of God), she taught Sunday School, was a youth leader, and played the organ for fifty years.  She was a stay-at-home mother for years.  Mrs. Williams was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was preceded in death by Joseph E. Williams, Sr., her husband of sixty-seven years; her parents, Reverend Earl A. Crawford and Hazel J. Crawford; a daughter, Rachel W. Carroll; granddaughters, Austin Caroline Williams and Shelly Carroll Whitaker; great-granddaughter, Coraline Rose Whitaker; and brother, Judge George Crawford of Gray, Georgia.

Mrs. Williams is survived by two sons, Joseph E. Williams, Jr. (Rebecca) of Macon and Daniel E. Williams, Sr. (Ginger) of Dillard, Georgia; Four grandchildren, Kathryn W. Hill; Joseph E. Williams III (Stacie), Daniel E. Williams, Jr. and Parker Brown Williams; seven great-grandchildren, Olivia Marie Fowler, Clara Grace Christian, Hope Christian, Eden-Grae Williams, Joseph E. Williams IV, Ezekiel Hill, and Mary Austin Hill; sister-in-law, Ann Carolyn Williams.
