Maudie Bell Wood Farrell

Maudie Bell Wood Farrell, 95, of Gray, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020. A funeral service will be Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Gray United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jason Dillard and Chris Smarr officiating. The family will greet friends Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel. Ms. Maudie, to all who knew her, or Mawmaw to all who loved her, was born October 3, 1925 in Gordon, Georgia to the late John Pink and Stella Wood. She is survived by her son, RL Farrell (Joyce); grandchildren, Penni Hartley (David), Heather Cox, Buck Farrell (Dena); great grandchildren, Michael Wilcox (Stephanie), Dusty Wilcox (Cierra), Nikki Logue (Brandon), Audie Newsome (Jordan), DJ Cox (Emily), Hunter Hartley (Amanda), Brock Farrell (Destiny) and Maddy Farrell; great great grandchildren, Noah & Jonah Logue, Leah, Piper, Zoe, & Jack Wilcox and Emma Claire Wilcox and two more whose arrival she anticipated next year; a sister, Patty Floyd, and many loving nieces, nephews, & friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Leroy Farrell.

Ms. Maudie loved her family and spending with them. She stated on many occasions her family was her greatest joy. She was a mighty prayer warrior, praying for her family, friends, and community daily. She loved red birds, reading, playing bingo, and going fishing. She was a member of Gray United Methodist Church and the 2015 Mrs. Lynn Haven.
