Macon- Mattie Clara (Griffin) Johnson-Lyles passed away Sunday April 19, 2009. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday April 21, 2009, in Hart's Cherry Street chapel at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery in Mayfield, GA at 3:00 PM. Visitation will be held Monday April 20, 2009, at Hart's Cherry Street location from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the donor's favorite charity. Mrs. Lyles was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Dry Branch, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Binon and Edith Griffin; Siblings, Willie B. Griffin, Mary Lucille Griffin McGregor, James Franklin Griffin, Doris Griffin and stepson, Wayne Grimesly. Survivors: Husband, James Lyles of Macon, GA; Children; Dennis W. Johnson (Jeanette) of Juliette, GA, Olan G. Johnson (Cheryl) of Juliette, GA, Sandra Ethridge (Bob) of Lawrenceville, GA and James E. Lyles (Catherine) of Macon, GA; Siblings; Myrtle Rooks (Eugene) of Macon, GA, Edith C. Tuttle (Cliff) of Macon, GA, Harold Griffin (Brenda) of Byron, GA, Jesse T. Griffin (Gloria) of Milledgeville, GA, John E. Griffin (Barbara) of Sparta, GA, Richard B. Griffin (Virginia) of Gray, GA and Joyce G. Hendley of Macon, GA; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Hart's Mortuary and Crematory on Cherry Street has charge of arrangements.
