Mason Gammage, of Macon, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017. A graveside service will be held Friday, January 6, 2017, at 3:00 PM, in Riverside Cemetery (North Gate). Mr. Gammage, born on February 7, 1923, was predeceased by his parents, William Brooks Gammage, Sr. and Vera Shivers Gammage, and his loving wife of sixty-four years, Lillian Hyatt Gammage. He retired from Georgia Power in 1986 following forty years of service. Mr. Gammage lived in Perry, Georgia for forty years and was a member of Perry Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II. The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the sitters and staff at Laurel Bay, especially Sharon Hand, Johnnie Bowser and Sally West. Mr. Gammage is survived by his niece, Jenny Simpson (Billy) of Augusta, Georgia and his nephew, Ray Campbell of Byron; cousin, Dale McDonald (Tom) of Macon; great-nephews, Ray Campbell, Jr. (Kim) and Jonathan Campbell (Angie); one great-great-nephew and one great-great-niece.
