Mary Jo Winters Côté

Mary Jo Winters Côté, 86, of Macon, Georgia, gained her heavenly wings on Saturday, April 23, 2022.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, April 29, 2022, in the Chapel of Hart’s Mortuary at the Cupola with Father William McIntyre officiating. The family will greet friends at the reception following the service.

Mary Jo was born in Savannah, Georgia, on September 15, 1935, to Elizabeth and Edward Winters.  In the 1950’s, she worked at the Savannah Docks and an automobile dealership.

She was the loving wife to Joseph P. A. Côté of 61 years, and they were blessed with five wonderful children. She was proud to be an Air Force wife and supported her husband throughout his Career.  Mary Jo was also a hard worker and dedicated twenty years to the Bibb County Board of Education as the school registrar.

Mary Jo is survived by her children, Johnny Côté (Carole) of Macon, Billy Côté (Christine) of Waterford, Connecticut, Glenn Côté (Tammy) of Washington, Liz Bishop (Rusty) of Macon, and Jack Côté (Dee Dee) of Warner Robins; her grandchildren, Christina Findley (Robby), Thomas Côté (Jessica), Matthew Côté (Cynthia), Sarah Beth Côté (Edward), Christopher Côté, Ashley Côté, Quentin Bishop (Sarah), Samantha Bishop, Ashton Etheridge, Branden Côté (Femke), Sydney Côté, and Maci Côté; her great-grandchildren, Cache Findley, Selah Grace Findley, Frances Bishop, Lucca Bishop, Anastasia Elise Côté, Rose Agnes Reardon, and Gracie Mae Côté; and her canine companion, Charlie.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. A. Côté, and her parents, Edward and Elizabeth Cleary Winters.
