Mary Jo Walker

Mary Jo Walker, 97, of Hawkinsville, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Rose Hill Cemetery. The Reverend N. B. Goss will be officiating.

Mrs. Walker was born in Calhoun, Georgia to the late Walter Steven Bohannon and Grace Mae James Bohannon. She moved to Macon in 1947 to be with her first husband of 41 years, James Homer Walker. She married Jimmie Wayne Waddell 11 years after Mr. Walker's death, where they lived in Calhoun until eventually moving to Hawkinsville.

Mrs. Walker is survived by her husband of 24 years, Jimmie Waddell of Calhoun, Georgia; son, Doyle Walker (Trica) of Byron; daughter, Kay Weldon (Pat) of Hawkinsville; step-daughter, Hope Ray (Chris) of Calhoun; four grandchildren, Mike Walker, John Walker (Crystal) of Kathleen, Joanna Medley (Chris) of Warner Robins, and Kathryn Weldon of Hawkinsville; five great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two sisters, Johnnie Smith (Ronald) and Betty Chastain, both of Calhoun; and many more family members and friends.
