Mary J. Waggie, 85, of Lizella, passed away Friday, February 16, 2018. Private services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Chester, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lizella United Methodist Church, 2920 South Lizella Road, Lizella, GA 31052 or The American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, GA 31201. Mrs. Waggie was a member of Lizella United Methodist Church. She loved to crochet, sew, read and work in her garden. Mrs. Waggie was predeceased by her husband, Guy Edward Waggie, Jr.; parents, Thomas and Lydia Ernst; and sisters, Dorothy Glatthorn and Mabel Pilla. Mrs. Waggie is survived by her daughters, Linda Waggie Curtis (Arthur) of Lizella, Diane Waggie Powell (Fred) of Warrenton, North Carolina, and Mary Tina Waggie Marshall (Tommy) of Ellenton, Florida; son, Guy Edward Waggie, III (Diane), of Ellenton; 9 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild on the way; brother, Thomas Ernst (Sharon) of The Villages, Florida; sisters, Edna Hoffman (John) of Penn Yan, New York and Anna Wright of Audubon, New Jersey.
